Activating your license
Paste the key from your email once on each computer. The key starts with CS- and looks like CS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
Activate
- Install Caption Suite with the installer from the download page.
- Open it: Window › Extensions › Caption Suite in After Effects or Premiere Pro; Workspace › Workflow Integrations › Caption Suite in DaVinci Resolve Studio.
- Paste your license key and choose Activate. You need internet for this step.
One activation covers every editor on that computer. Caption Suite then works offline for up to 14 days at a time.
Two computers, and moving between them
A license is active on two computers at a time. To use a third, free one first: in Caption Suite open Settings › License › Manage devices and choose Deactivate next to the computer you no longer use. If you can’t reach that computer, start activating on the new one: when it says the license is in use, it lists your computers and lets you deactivate one with your key.
Reinstalling Caption Suite on the same computer keeps its activation. Reinstalling the operating system makes it a new computer: deactivate the old entry.
Lost your key?
In Caption Suite choose Restore license and enter the email you bought with: the key is sent there again. Still nothing? Look in spam for a message from Caption Suite, or write to us with your order number.
What the messages mean
- This license is already active on 2 computers
- Deactivate one under Manage devices
- No license was found for this key
- Copy the whole key from the email, CS- included
- Hasn’t been able to check your license for more than 14 days
- Connect to the internet once
- This license was refunded, or has been revoked
- Write to support with your order number
